motivation

Location: New York

Recently when I met other bloggers or clients at pressdays or blogger dinners, I often got told that I remind them of another German blogger. Of course I understand that, everybody’s trying to evaluate the person they just met and make a picture of them in their minds. But for me it’s quite nerve racking – I am my own brand and don’t want people to think I copy someone. The theme I had in mind when I started my Instagram three years ago was exactly as it is today: travel photos mixed with premium brands, more cute looking myself than a sexy myself, high quality pictures. Inspirational, colorful and day light pictures with a lot of blonde hair, breakfasts and from-back pictures in it. That’s what I wanted my brand ‘VIVA LA MODA’ to look like. Unfortunately, a year after that, started a different German blogger with that and was gaining more followers than I had. She’s doing it full time and even had a whole team to work for her – so of course she has 5 times more man power to work for the blog and make it successful. When I started I had a 40 hours job and now I have 50 hours studies at university. That is totally fine with me and I think not everyone can be completely new and unique but yeah – I will not change my brand just because others are doing it the same way I’m doing. My Blog and Instagram is 100% me – not to personal but very inspirational, girly and colorful just like I feel. I always looked like that (I never dyed my hair or had a short cut) and I hope you understand and like that 🙂

yotel new york

Location: New York

Staying at the corner room at the yotel was a true dream. After visiting the rooftop cinema last year when we were in New York city (we watched Breakfast at Tiffanys) we were super happy to collaborate with the hotel. Our room was in the top floor and we woke up to an amazing 180° view every day. I could have stayed all day and watch the cabs drive by. Super instagram worthy is the terrace with is embroided pillows and lampions. I think for everybody visiting New York it’s a good budget alternative. Thanks so much to the Yotel for having us!

about big dreams

Location: New York

I’m editing my final NYC pictures while listening to Flume. The concert in Munich is gonna be in two weeks and I’m excited to dance off with Noah (she was in NY with me, too). Thinking back to NYC makes me feel nervous and excited – I think you gotta think big and basically I have archived all I wanted to archive by getting 21 – traveling constant around the world, having the best man in the world accepting me for who I am, entering my photography uni at the first try, having the best friends and family in this world and gotta work with awesome brands around the globe. Actually, if I finish my studies and can live from my work, from my passion and what I love to do, this is all I wanted to archieve in life. Maybe get a kid with 35 and own a flat with my love (Max and I keep joking that we will name our doughter Maxi and our son Alex)… BUT there’s still one dream I have since I watched ‘the devil wears Prada’ when I was 10: to live and work for a few months in NYC. Currently I’m gonna be working on that for the next year or two years. Now I can speak it out loud: I really wanna do a photography internship (as an assistant) in New York! Failing is easy, but I think if you’re gonna work hard for it you might get it – maybe not in time but one day. So the next years I’m gonna assist as many phtotographers I can, shooting so many editorials that I hardly can photoshop them all and just gonna give it a try, the US government doesn’t make it easy (actually I feel that it’s easier to fly to the moon) but – bad quote, but true – you only fail when you stop trying.

loews park avenue

Location: New York

Thinking back to my stay at Loews – a dream at the Upper East Side. Noah and I were happy to stay for a few days during Fashion Week and enjoyed the super huge hotel room for New York standarts – there would fit 4 apartments in it. The ultimate luxus was the TV in the mirror, I mean how cool’s that? We also enjoyed Eggs Benedict, a fruit plate and muesli for breakfast and I felt like Serena in Gossip Girl, watching the taxis rushing down the street from my Park Avenue apartment…
