Anzeige – What a beautiful trip it has been – we just came back from our getaway in the mountains, an one hour drive from Munich. We had an amazing time at the ‘Das Tegernsee’ hotel which is a hotel with a long tradition, it dates back to 1842 and reopened in 1972 and more houses and rooms were added ever since. When you’re looking for a traditional room – they got you covered. When you’re looking for a brand new modern room – they got you covered. A wedding suite with marble? They got you. A family room for all the kids? They got you. The ‘Das Tegernsee’ is located on the hill of Neureuth and faces west so you can always see the sun setting over the beautiful mountains surrounding the lake. We had the chance to stay at one of their beautiful Alpen Chalet rooms with a terrace and were amazed by the interior where wood and modernity meet.
EAT
The hotel is serving breakfast from 7 to 11am and you can pick from a varity of meals like eggs benedict, omelette, bavarian sausages and the buffet which serves everything you can ask for. The rooms where breakfast is held can also be booked for weddings (Senger Schloss) and look absolutely stunning – they date back to 1842. Named after the castle itself you can fine dine at the Restaurant Senger which is currently only open for hotel guests cause of covid19. We had a delicious four course dinner there overlooking the view. Just sit down, have a glass of wine and enjoy the service!
SLEEP
We had the chance to stay at one of their beautiful Alpen Chalet room with a terrace and were amazed by the interior where wood and modernity meet. They were built in 2016 and are all facing the lake so you can see the sunset right from your bed. We also ordered room service and did yoga on our terrace, so relaxing. My highlight was the rainshower cause you know I have a big heart for gorgeous bathrooms.
RELAX
The sauna and spa area is beyond – beautifully designed and perfect to calm down. They have a gorgeous indoor and outdoor pool facing the mountains and five different saunas. A sun deck and a relax room with a fireplace make it complete. I read my Paulo Coelho book and used the time to come down from the moving stress. I booked a neck massage and loved it – thank you, Marina! Overall, I can higly recommend to stay for a few wellness days and explore the beautiful surroundings. A huge thank you to the Das Tegernsee team for inviting us.
Wonderful post, it looks beautiful!
